A favourite shrub for the cool climate garden, Ribes sanguineum grows to a height of 2.5 metres and has a spread of 2 metres. A deciduous species, it bears masses of fragrant pink flowers on its spiny stems. It has somewhat heart-shaped, deeply lobed leaves.
