Evergreen shrubs, small leaves (similar to rosemary), no marked fragrance as in other lamiaceae plants. 

Uses

Garden shrub, hedge or topiary plant, container plant.

Culture

Most soils, but not waterlogged; water occasionally in very dry weather, mulch over summer. Prune as needed for shape.

Propagation

Cuttings taken in summer may be gown in a greenhouse at 20-25 degrees C.

Cultivars

Around 25 species, and numerous named cultivars.

Plant Health

Half-hardy to frost tender; few suited to temperate regions except R. rosmariniformis which may be grown against a wall in a sheltered position in warmer temperate zones.
