Evergreen perennial sub-shrub approx 1m high. Stems contain a milky sap that can cause skin rashes. Leaves are broadly linear and blue-green, occurring in clusters along the stem. Flowers are small and brown, surrounded by showy yellow-green bracts.

Uses

Ornamental perennial suitable for garden beds, rockeries and cottage gardens.

Culture

Prefers full sun, but will also grow in semi-shade. Suitable for temperate and warm climates. Prefers well-drained soil. Tolerates frost and coastal conditions. Propagate by seed or by cuttings in spring or summer.
