Rhizomatous, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial fern. In spring fronds occur in circular clusters ranging from .6 to 1.5m high before forming dense raised crowns in autumn and winter.
Uses
Ornamental perennial suitable for shaded sites and ferneries.
Culture
Suitable for part shade or shaded sites and cool or temperate climates. Prefers moist, slightly acidic, well drained and well-mulched soil. Propagate by division or spores. Can become invasive.
