Sword Fern, Fish-bone Fern
Rhizomatous, herbaceous perennial fern growing to a height and width of approx 1m. Leaves are lanceolate, deeply divided, pale green and wiry. There a many varieties available featuring ornamental and coloured foliage.
Uses
Ornamental perennial fern suitable for difficult shady sites, pots and hanging baskets.
Culture
Suitable for semi-shaded and shady sites in sub-tropical and temperate climates. Prefers fertile moist soil, but will tolerate both waterlogged and dry conditions. Frost sensitive. Propagate by division or spores.
