Obedient Plant
Rhizomatous, herbaceous perennial growing to 1m high by .6m wide. Stems are rectangular, upright and unbranched. Leaves are lanceolate, dentate and mid-green. Produces tubular flowers of pink-purple on erect terminal spikes in summer. Flowers stay in place if moved due to hinged stalks. White flowering varieties are also available.
Uses
Herbaceous perennial suitable for cottage gardens and garden beds.
Culture
Suitable for full sun and a cool or temperate climate. Prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Frost resistant. Propagate from seed, basal cuttings or division.
