Rhizomatous herbaceous perennial growing to between 6cm and 9cm high. The upright leaves are sessile and dark green. The spurred, spotted flowers are purple-pink with a yellow throat, appearing in Spring.

Uses

Flowering perennial suitable for cottage gardens, rockeries and garden beds.

Culture

Suitable for semi-shade or shade and a cool or temperate climate. Require warm conditions during summer. Prefers moist, fertile soil. Tolerates frost. Propagate by seed in autumn or division in spring.
