Foxglove
Short-lived herbaceous perennial to 1.5m high by 60cm wide, usually grown as a biennial. Some varieties are grown as annuals. The leaves are rough, deep-green and ovate. Numerous tubular flowers ranging from white, yellow, pink and purple are held on upright spikes during summer.
Uses
Ornamental flower suitable for cottage gardens and as a bedding plant.
Culture
Prefers semi-shade, a protected position and moist, well-drained soil in cool climates. Frost tolerant. Propagate by seed or division. Self seeds readily. Poisonous plant.
