Annual plant with compound, palmate leaves with five leaflets. The pea-like flowers occur on upright spikes in spring and feature a range of colours.
Uses
Flowering annual suitable for cottage gardens and as a bedding plant.
Culture
Lupins grow best in full sun in temperate climates with dry summers, but should be kept well-watered during the growing season. Prefers sandy, well-drained soil. Propagate from seed. Susceptible to slugs and snails. Can be invasive.
