Slow-growing annual plant to 20cm high by 15cm wide with a trailing habit. The leaves are pale green and ovate/lanceolate. Small flowers with two lips are produced from spring to autumn. There are a number of different cultivars featuring blue, red, white and pink flowers.

Uses

Flowering annual suitable for cottage gardens, as a bedding plant or in hanging baskets.

Culture

Suitable for full sun or semi-shade in temperate climates. Prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Frost resistant. Propagate from seed in early spring.
