Scarlet sage

Slow-growing perennial or sub-shrub to 30cm high by 20cm wide, usually grown as an annual. The leaves are mid-green and ovate with serrate margins. Masses of red flowers appear on teminal spikes during summer and autumn.

Uses

Ornamantal flower suitable for cottage gardens and as a bedding plant.

Culture

Grow in full sun in a cool or temperate climate. Provide some shade in warmer regions. Prefers well-drained soil. Frost resistant. Propagate by seed or cuttings.
