This evergreen shrub is native to China and grows to a height of 1.5 metres with a spread of 1 metre. It has yellow flowers approximately 1 cm across. It bears small (0.5 cm long)bluish black berries.
Uses
Ornamental shrub suitable for small and larger gardens.
Culture
This barberry prefers a well drained loam in an open, sunny spot. It is drought and frost resistant. To propagate it, take hardwood cuttings in the winter.
