This popular garden shrub is a native of China. An evergreen plant, it grows to a height of 5 metres and has a spread of 3 metres. Lanceolate gre/green leaves. It bears distinctive lilac coloured flowers. It is commonly known as butterfly bush because it can attract butterflies.

Ornamental shrub suitable for small and large gardens.

Attracts birds and insects.

Culture

Whilst Buddleias are adaptable to a range of soil types, this one will do best in rich, well drained soil. It is drought tender, so needs plenty of water in dry times. It is frost resistant. To propagate, take hardwood cuttings in the winter.
