An evergreen shrub which grows to a height of 2 metres with a spread of 2 metres. Leaves are large and ovate. The flowers range from pink to white to blue, depending on the pH of the soil (acid = blue; alkaline = pink).
Uses
Ornamental shrub that does best in shaded and protected sites.
Culture
As with most Hydrangeas, this species prefers rich, deep, porous soils and plenty of water. It will do best in a partially shaded position and is frost resistant, but drought tender. It can be propagated from semi hardwood cuttings, or grown from seed.
